In My Mailbox (7)

In My Mailbox (7)

Hosted by thestorysiren

Paul is Undead by: Alan Goldsher

Summary:
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT'S TIME TO REALLY MEET THE BEATLES.

For John Lennon, a young, idealistic zombie guitarist with dreams of global domination, Liverpool seems the ideal place to form a band that could take over the world. In an inspired act, Lennon kills and reanimates local rocker Paul McCartney, kicking off an unstoppable partnership. With the addition of newly zombified guitarist George Harrison and drummer/Seventh Level Ninja Lord Ringo Starr, the Beatles soon cut a swath of bloody good music and bloody violent mayhem across Europe, America, and the entire planet.

In this searing oral history, discover how the Fab Four climbed to the Toppermost of the Poppermost while stealing the hearts, ears, and brains of smitten teenage girls. Learn the tale behind a spiritual journey that resulted in the dismemberment of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Marvel at the seemingly indestructible quartet’s survival of a fierce attack by Eighth Level Ninja Lord Yoko Ono. And find out how the boys escaped eternal death at the hands of England’s greatest zombie hunter, Mick Jagger.

Through all this, one mystery remains: Can the Beatles sublimate their hunger for gray matter, remain on top of the charts, and stay together for all eternity? After all, three of the Fab Four are zombies, and zombies live forever. . . .

Umm how could any Beatles lover not get this book? John Lennon,Paul Mccartney, and George Harrison as zombies and Ringo as a ninja!? I had to get this book. I only read a couple of pages so far but it's pretty good. What did you get?

Review: Bite Me! by: Melissa Francis

Bite Me! by: Melissa Francis

Published:August 1,2009 by HarperTeen

Summary: AJ Ashe isn't your typical seventeen-year-old vampire-as if there is such a thing! She's stuck in the middle of a huge fight between her two BFF's. Her ex-boyfriend-whom she's totally in love with,by the way-is now her stepbrother. A former classmate-who,um,she may or may not have turned into a vampire-is stalking her. And now, apparently, the fate if humankind lies in her little undead hands. Whatever happened to the good old day, when all a vampire girl had to worry about was the occasional zit and hiding her taste for blood?

Review: When I picked Bite Me! up I thought I was going to pick up a cute, fluffy book but instead I picked up a thrill ride with a hint of cuteness.

Bite Me! starts off with a wedding. But not just any normal wedding, well for A.J. You see her mom is getting married to her boyfriend's dad. Forced to break up since now they are brother and sister breaks A.J's heart, but this is just the beginning of her problems. From getting into fights with her best friend to maybe turning her crush into a vampire A.J takes you on a thrill ride.

I really liked most of the characters. A.J. was a funny character and handled most of her problems without being annoying. However,I found her to be very annoying in the beginning. Ryan,A.J's ex-boyfriend seemed like a pervert/jerk in the beginning but toward the middle/end he became very swoon worthy and Malia was a very trustworthy best friend whom I really liked.

Bridget,A.J's other best friend was a bitch. She didn't believe A.J a lot and would laugh at something serious that A.J was trying to tell her. She also didn't have much of a back story. She just came in,acted like a bitch and left. Noah was a big-time pervert i hated how they tried to make him look so nice.

Bite Me! took me about 50 pages to really get into and some of the vampire history they squeezed in really confused me. However,it was very addicting and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Overall: It was a thrill ride with unexpected twists, turns, uphills and downhills, but was a great ride.

4 stars

Waitng On Wednesday

Blindsided by: Prisiclla Cummings
Coming out: July 8,2010 by Dutton Juvenile

Summary: In many ways, Natalie O’Reilly is a typical fourteenyear- old girl. But a routine visit to the eye doctor produces devastating news: Natalie will lose her sight within a few short months.
Suddenly her world is turned upside down. Natalie is sent to a school for the blind to learn skills such as Braille and how to use a cane. Outwardly, she does as she’s told; inwardly, she hopes for a miracle that will free her from a dreaded life of blindness. But the miracle does not come, and Natalie ultimately must confront every blind person’s dilemma. Will she go home to live scared? Or will she embrace the skills she needs to make it in a world without sight?

Wow,this sounds very moving. I would hate to become blind,so I can understand Natalie. And the best part is it's coming out tomorrow so I don't have to wait that long to read it.
