Freak the Mighty

Freak the Mighty by: Rodman Philbrick

Released: June 1,2001

Publisher: Scholastic

Summary: A stunning young adult novel by Rodman Philbrick that tells the heartwarming story of two special ed boys who pair up to form a unique and empowering friendship. Two boys a slow learner stuck in the body of a teenage giant and a tiny Einstein in leg braces forge a unique friendship when they pair up to create one formidable human force. Made into the movie,The Mighty.

Review: Freak the mighty is a heartfelt story about two boys' mighty friendship.
The book starts off with Max. Max is a slow learning boy who is "trapped" in the body of a giant. Max always thought he had no brain. But then Kevin came along. Kevin is Max's mother friend's son who is a genius "trapped" in a small body due to his Mosquio Syndrome. Together Max and Kevin form Freak the Mighty. Together they will form the greatest team ever.
This Book was very unique,I never read a book like this. Max and Kevin both have very dark pasts, which keeps you wondering about it throughout the book. The part when Max and Kevin go to find "buried treasure" made me laugh so hard! I loved all the characters they were great and well developed.
What I didn't like about the book was how Max (the narrator) was always using sentences like:
And then she was like "whoa!"
It got very annoying at times. I also hated how the ending was so predictable. I knew it from the start.
Overall: An almost Perfect book. A Great Read!

I must have dozed off. One moment, the room was still, the next,Mother flew off the pillows and was violently ill, vomiting blood all over the bed and floor. Her eyes rolled back in her head.
I jumped up from the stool.
"Eliza!" I screamed, "Help!"
There was no answer. Eliza was gone. I was alone.

The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove

The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove by: Lauren Kate

Published: November 12,2009

Publisher: Razorbill

Summary: A Steamy Southern Beauty Makes One Fatal Mistake.
Natalie Hargrove would kill to be her high school's Palmetto Princess. But her boyfriend Mike King doesn't share her dream and risks losing the honor of Palmetto Prince to Natalie's nemesis,Justin Balmer. So she convinces her boyfriend Mike to help play a prank on Justin...one that goes terribly wrong. They tie him to the front of the church after a party-when they arrive the next morning,Justin is dead.
From blackmail to buried desire, dark secrets to darker deeds,Natalie unravels. She never should've messed with fate. Fate is the one thing more twisted than Natalie Hargrove.
Cruel Intentions meets Macbeth in this seductive, revivting tale of conscience and consequence.

Review: I was disappointed with this book. I liked the plot, but I think the summary gave too much away.

Natalie Hargrove is the it girl who I can't stand. I hated her from the beginning. All she seemed to care about was the crown. She was a flat out bitch and I wasn't that crazy about her.

I also didn't like how the dad was also brought out. It seemed that we didn't really need him. I mean he was only in a chapter or two. There was already the drama about JB and the crown. Wasn't that enough?

The beginning was also pretty slow. All it talked about was Natalie's perfect life with Mike. The ending I did like though. I did not see it coming. Most of the characters I liked and the nicknames too. Like the Dick for Natalie's mom's boyfriend. It made it more realistic.

Overall: Could have been a lot more better

Deep And Dark And Dangerous

Deep and Dark and Dangerous by: Mary Downing Hahn

Published: May 21,2007

Publisher: Sandpiper

Summary: Just before summer begins, thirteen year old Ali finds an old photograph. She recognizes the two children. One's her mother, the other her Aunt Dulcie...but who is the third person, the one who's been torn out of the picture? Ali will have two months to figure it out, since she's spending the summer with her Aunt and her cousin in the same house her mom and her aunt used to visit when they were kids.

Then Ali meets Sissy. Sissy is mean, spiteful, and determined to ruin Ali's summer. Sissy also has a secret. Could it have something to do with the old photo? Ali is dying to find out.Though,if she's not careful, that's exactly what will happen to her-die,that is.

Review: Everybody loves a scary story right before Christmas!

It all starts when 13 year old Ali finds a picture of 3 girls. She recognizes the first two children as her mom and her Aunt Dulcie, but the other girl is half ripped off and the back only says that her name begins with a T. When for the summer she stays with her Aunt Dulcie and cousin Hannah at the same house her mother used to stay at when they were kids she is more than happy. She thinks she can finally solve the mystery of T. Then, she meets Sissy. Sissy is mean and ruining Ali's summer. But there is something about Sissy that Ali thinks may have something to do with the picture.

I already knew the ending before I even finished the story. It was very predictable. Although I did like the plot and the writing was very addicting, you could tell what was going to happen next.

Ali got very annoying at times. She would say that whispering was rude to Sissy and I thought that Ali sounded like an old woman! She's thirteen! Ali's cousin,Hannah got very annoying too. I think she was bi-polar,even if she was only 4. One day she would hang on to Ali and love her and the next she would cling to Sissy and change her whole personality. Ali's mom was just a bitch. Even though, she was hardly in the book I still hated her.

Even through all the problems I had with this book I still found it addicting and it was a great story. It could have been better but it wasn't.

Overall:Addicting but could have been better.

A Match Made In High School by: Kristen Walker

Coming out: February 4,2010

Amanda is paired up with Fiona's long-term crush,Gabe. At least Fiona is doing better than her best friend,Marcie, who is paired up with the very quiet, very mysterious Johnny Mercer. Pranks, fights, misunderstandings, and reconciliations ensue in an almost Shakespearean comedy of errors about mistaken first impressions, convoluted coupling, and hidden crushes.

Reaction: I saw great reviews on this book and I love the plot. Would it be cool to be in a Marriage Education Program. Well I think it would.

Thirteen Reasons Why by: Jay Asher

Thirteen Reasons Why by: Jay Asher

Released: October 18,2007

Publisher: Razorbill

Summary: Clay Jensen's first love records her last words.

Clay Jensen returns home form school to find a strange package with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker-his classmate and crush-who committed suicide two weeks earlier.

Hannah's voice tells him that they are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens,he'll find out how.

Clay spend the night crisscrossing his town with Hannah as his guide. He becomes a first-hand witness to Hannah's pain, and learns the truth about himself-a truth he never wanted to face.

Review: Thirteen Reasons Why is a unique, emotional story about one girl's decision to commit suicide and why she did it.

Thirteen Reasons Why is probably one of the best books I read. Hannah Baker has decided that she's had it with life and commits suicide. Two weeks later,Clay Jensen receives a mysterious package filled with tapes. As Clay listens to the tapes,he becomes horrified to learn that the voice he hears is his crush,Hannah Baker and the tapes are telling him that he is one of the thirteen reasons why she killed herself.

All the characters were believable. I liked Clay. He seemed like a nice kid. Unlike a lot of the boys I read about who are just hungry for sex. He wasn't like that. Hannah I liked also and I really felt bad for her. She was messed up.

Overall: A very emotional book. A MUST READ!

Released: November 1,2009

Publisher: Poppy

Summary: Dying to know the Pretty Commitee`s juiciest gossip? Curious what people mean when they call you an LBR? (Hint: it's nawt a compliment.) Want tips on how to go from a six-point-ew to a ten?

Ah-bviously! This cute-times-a-million gift book contains the Clique`s best comebacks, favorite expressions, and silliest expressions. One hundred Gossip Points if you can guess Massie's first Lip-kiss....

Review: This is a pretty cute book. It`s perfect for any Clique fans. It has cool stuff like Massie's comebacks and the girls' interviews. And if you are confused about their talk like C-Minus,there`s a dictionary in the back!

I loves how you could play with the cover, but, I didn't like how it was hardcover. It was 80 pages! It`s too thin to be a hardcover! Same for the Prequel! That was 120 pages and it was hardcover too! I also expected more. Don't get me wrong. The book was really interesting, but I just thought maybe it could give us more, like maybe what could have been plots to the books, for example.

Overall: Perfect for Clique lovers.

America`s Next Top Model Book 1 Face Value

America`s Next Top Model Book 1: Face Value

Published:August 1,2009

Publisher: Scholastic Inc.

3 Stars

Summary: Get ready for a world of high-fashion and high drama with a fabulous fiction series inspired by the hit TV show America`s Next Top Model!

Alexis: With my red hair and blue eyes, I may seem just like another shy small town girl. But I have some serious secrets up my sleeve.

Chloe:I`ve inherited my supermodel mom`s looks, and everyone expects me to flow in her Jimmy Choos. The catch? My wildest dreams has nothing to do with a runway.

Lindsay: Just call me the comeback kid. I used to be a celeb, but my star power dimmed. Now,I`m hoping that my beauty, brains, and a little bit of backstabbing will make me famous again.

Shiva-Rose:As the exotic-international girl,I`ve got my mystery working in my favor. But will a crush on the wrong guy threaten my chance of winning?

Review: I never watched America`s Next Top Model,so I don't know much about it. For me,The book started a little slow. And Sometimes it had the dumbest lines like:

"She`s serious like a scientist."

I get it now,but it really annoyed me. It was just really stupid and random.

I liked most of the characters.but there was one character that I HATED. Lindsay. She used to be a celebrity bu then she got fat and her parents wanted her to get a better education. She was a flat-out bitch. Excuse my French. But,I really didn`t want to read about her. Alexis and Chloe I liked. Shiva-Rose was ok.

The book was ok. I was expecting more. The ending I liked. I also liked some of the jokes. It wasn`t that bad but it could have been a lot more better.

Overall: An ok start to a new series.

Paranormal Activity

Trailer Here.

Paranormal Activity (2007)

Summary: When couple Micah (played by Micah Sloat) and Katie (played by Katie Featherson) move into a new house and experience noises during the night, they investigate using a Micah`s camera. What they thought was peeping toms turned out to be much more worse.

Review: This movie scared the living crap out of me. Right off the bat they tell you that there is some strange stuff going on. This movie made me not want to stay home by myself.

For Katie, the ghosts are usual, everyday life for her and they never really did anything to harm her. Then Micah comes in and they really start hurting her. Like really HURTING her. If I was Micah I would`ve left her. There is no way I`m sleeping in a haunted house. Not even if Taylor Lautner is in there. (OK. If he is on there I would!)

I LOVED this movie! It really scared me,but there were two things I didn`t like. Like Micah and Katie got very annoying after a while. There were basically the only 2 people in the movie. Then, there was some needless dialogue in there too. Like, there is a pool scene and there is NOTHING going on. I hate when movies do that. The scene was like only a few minutes long but still.

Overall: A VERY good scary movie but sometimes the most ANNOYING characters! Just don`t see it alone.

Waiting on Wednesday (6)

Waiting on Wednesday was started by Jill from Breaking the Spine.
My pick this week is:
The Sky is Everywhere by: Jandy Nelson
Coming out March 9,2010
Summary: Seventeen-year-old Lennie Walker, bookworm and band geek, plays second clarinet and spends her time tucked safely and happily in the shadow of her fiery older sister, Bailey. But when Bailey dies abruptly, Lennie is catapulted to center stage of her own life—and, despite her nonexistent history with boys, suddenly finds herself struggling to balance two. Toby was Bailey’s boyfriend; his grief mirrors Lennie’s own. Joe is the new boy in town, a transplant from Paris whose nearly magical grin is matched only by his musical talent. For Lennie, they’re the sun and the moon; one boy takes her out of her sorrow, the other comforts her in it. But just like their celestial counterparts, they can’t collide without the whole wide world exploding.
This remarkable debut is perfect for fans of Sarah Dessen, Deb Caletti, and Francesca Lia Block. Just as much a celebration of love as it is a portrait of loss, Lennie’s struggle to sort her own melody out of the noise around her is always honest, often hilarious, and ultimately unforgettable.
Reaction: This book looks really interesting and I love the cover! Can`t wait to buy it!

America`s Next Top Model:Face Value Book 1 by: Taryn Bell
One of the girls from 14A,Faye,did an interpretation of a sunflower that Mack was not happy with,"You`re obviously a smart cookie,Faye, but this interpretation-you look like a soldier, marching off to war. It`s way off base and does you no justice.
Faye tried to explain that sunflowers were strong, independent, thriving plants and that`s what she was trying to show.

4.5 stars

Summary:It's almost the end of Miranda's sophomore year in high school, and her journal reflects the busy life of a typical teenager: conversations with friends, fights with mom, and fervent hopes for a driver's license. When Miranda first begins hearing the reports of a meteor on a collision course with the moon, it hardly seems worth a mention in her diary. But after the meteor hits, pushing the moon off its axis and causing worldwide earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes, all the things Miranda used to take for granted begin to disappear. Food and gas shortages, along with extreme weather changes, come to her small Pennsylvania town; and Miranda's voice is by turns petulant, angry, and finally resigned, as her family is forced to make tough choices while they consider their increasingly limited options. Yet even as suspicious neighbors stockpile food in anticipation of a looming winter without heat or electricity, Miranda knows that that her future is still hers to decide even if life as she knew it is over.

Review: This book was so realistic it scared me. It has a lot of detail and the characters are so realistic. Miranda was my favorite character along with Mrs. Nesbitt.

I like Miranda`s voice when she wrote in her diary. I could relate to her and got a better look on how the world would end. It made me more thankful for my life. (corny. I know.)

I had 2 problems with the book is What happened to her dad,Sammi, and Dan and What happened to Becki. I mean I already knew but I want more details.

Overall: Needed to be a little bit more longer but other than that was really good.

Summary: Thousands applied. One hundred got in. Only one will win.

Eccentric billionaire Shira Brazille founded the super-exclusive Alpha Academy on exotic Alpha Island to nurture the next generation of exceptional dancers, writers, musicians, and inventors. It`s a dream come true for one hundred lucky girls, but those not measuring up will be sent home at any time, for any reason. The one left standing will win worldwide fame? Who will it be?

Skye Hamilton

Known for dance moves and ability to make super fast connections with boys,Skye plans on taking the alphas by storm-and lip-kissing all of Shira`s superhot sons.

Allie A. Abbot

Is one little initial away from superstardom. So when Allie J.Abbot`s invitation to Alpha Academy arrives on her doorstep, she does what any crafty girl would:commit identity theft. Can she keep up the charade?

Charlie Deery

Beta-for-life Charlie is offered a last minute place at the Academy, but there`s an admission condition:dumping her boyfriend-Shira`s son. It`s hard to claw her way up when ninety-nine girls are waiting to sink their claws into her superhawt ex.

Review: The book was a little bit hard to believe. I mean an island for the academy and holograms? Seriously?

The characters were believable. Out of the three main characters I liked Charlie the most because she is the only one who is not snobby or rich in the book. Skye was ok but Allie J got very annoying at times. Most of the characters were annoying like Triple and Renee.

I was overall very surprised with this book. Spin offs usually aren`t very successful. But it almost lived up to The Clique. The clique is still my fav.

Overall: Very surprising but hard to believe.

The Clique: Charmed and Dangerous

The Clique Prequel: Charmed and Dangerous by: Lisi Harrison
Released:October 27,2009
Publisher: Poppy

4.o stars

Summary: Happy New Clique!
Once upon a time,in Westchester and Orlando, they were four betas just waiting for their alpha. It took a miracle to bring the Pretty Commitee together-or rather,a New Year Yves party. Because sometimes when you meet someone it just cliques.

Massie Block: Is destined to lead, but trapped as a beta in the Ahnnabees, the top clique at PMS (Presbyterian Middle School). She has ah-mazing ideas-Friday night sleepovers,Gossip Points and matching charm bracelets. When will it be her time to rule?

Alicia Rivera: Is dying to lead the Body Alive Dance Studio Squad. With the captain on vacation,BADSS`s live performance on Merri-lee Marvil`s New Year Yves show is her chance to shine. Will she prove herself alpha-worthy-or will she have to find a whole new clique?

Dylan Marvil: Is done, done, and done with people kissing her teeny-tiny butt just because her mom is famous. But who will be brave enough to stand up to someone so Marvilous?

Kristen Gregory: Has made a New Year`s resolution to make friends and get a life. Escape from Planet Loser starts....now!

Claire Lyons: Is physced times ten to win a last-minute invitation to the New Year Yves satellite party in Orlando. But first she needs to sneak out of the house. And the countdown to midnight begins in ten...nine...eight...

Review: Wow,I was surprised about this book. I got it last night and loved the cover. I read the whole series and it was so cool to see how the clique was formed. It was one of those book where everything comes together at the end. I also love the title because it..well..read the book you`ll understand.

I hated all the characters except for the Pretty Committee (except Dylan) Brook,Derrick, and Cam. They were so annoying! When I was their age I was NEVER like that. Massie was more nicer in this book and Dylan was always saying how skinny she was but really in the older books she is always saying how fat she is. Oh and also I dont know why this made me laugh but uh Dylan has two older sisters named Ryan and Jaime. I guess Merri Lee really wanted boys. lol.

Overall: Had many twists and turns and was addicting.

Life As We Knew It by: Susan Beth Pfeffer
"Did the tides stop?" I asked. "Did the flooding stop?"
"They stopped, they started." Mom said. It`s very bad. Very bad doesn't really describe it. Catastrophic. They don't know how bad the damage is yet,how many countries are affected.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days by: Jeff Kinney

Released: October 12,2009

Publisher: Amulet Books

4 stars

Summary: It`s summer vacation-the weather`s great, and all the kids are having fun outside. So where`s Greg Heffley? Inside his house, playing video games with the shades drawn.

Greg,a self-confessed "indoor person",is living out his ultimate summer fantasy; no responsibilities and no rules. But Greg`s mom has a different vison for an ideal summer...one packed with outdoor activities and "family togetherness."

Whose vision will win out? Or will a new addition to the Heffley family change everything?

Review: I love the Wimpy Kid series even if it`s a little too young for me. I started reading about a year ago and I loved it. I got the book at around 7 last night and finished it in about 2 hours. The book made me laugh aloud at times because a part of the book took place at a boardwalk. I love boardwalks and I could relate to it.

My favorite character is Rowley. He`s is Greg`s dumb friend who always makes me laugh. I was disappointed that Rowley was hardly in the book! He was kinda in the beginning, the whole middle part he wasen`t and about 30 pages at the end. Greg and Manny were pretty funny too.

I was disappointed because the book never tells you what happened to the book club the mom put up or whatever happened to Greg and Rowley? It left me unanswered.

Overall: It could be funny at times but left me with questions.

Stargirl by: Jerry Spinelli

Stargirl by: Jerry Spinelli

Released: 2000

Publisher: Knopf Books for Young Readers

Rating: 4.o stars

Summary: Stargirl. She`s as magical as the desert sky. As strange as her pet rat. As mysterious as her own name. And she captures Leo Borlock`s heart with just one smile.

But when the students of Mica High turn on Stargirl for everything that makes her different,Leo urges her to become the very next thing that can destroy her:normal. In a celebration of noncomformity, Newbery Medalist Jerry Spinelli weaves a tense, emotional tales about the perils of popularity-and the inspiration of first love.

Review: I had to read this book for a book report so I wasen`t really able to enjoy it as I would`ve liked too. I would have to read a chapter write the synopsis new characters or new settings. Then do it all over again!

Stargirl was probably the weirdest character I have ever read about. I didn`t really like her. She`s was just too weird. She always had a pet rat with her and a ukelele. I can`t really describe Leo. He might`ve been the narrator but I felt like I really didn`t get to know him.

I like the plot of the story. The only problem I had was I couldn`t see Leo and Stargirl being in high school. I think they should have been in middle school. The characters were pretty believable. But I wish they put more Hillari Kimble in or Dori Dilson. The book was centered on just Stargirl and Leo. I wanted a little more.

Overall: Pretty good just not as good as I thought.

The Stepfather

The Stepfather (came out October 14,2009

3 stars

Summary:I know this isnt book related, but since I haven`t been really posting I decided to do a movie review. The movie is about Michael(played by the super sexy Penn Badgeley) returning from Military school and finding that his mother(played by Sela Ward) is engaged to Jay (Jon Tenney) Little does the family know that Jay is a murderer who is known for meeting women with children in supermarkets, marring them, and then murdering them. Will this family be murdered too? (I know bad summary, just made it up like 5 minutes ago)

review: The movie was better than I thought. I thought it would be a cheap teen slasher flick. But I was wrong. There wasn`t a lot of killing or violence. It had more dialogue then violence. So,sometimes I got a little bored.

Michael's girlfriend annoyed me the most! Michael would keep telling her all this proof and she would always push it off.

Michael: He erased all the pictures of him on my phone!

Girlfriend: Well,maybe he`s camera shy!

Wtf?? lol

Overall,It was good. It`s a thriller. Don't let it fool you!

The Fashion Disaster that Changed My Life by: Lauren Myracle

The Fashion Disaster that Changed My Life by:Lauren Myracle
Released: May 22,2007
Publisher:Puffin

3 Stars

Summary: Out of all the people in the world, why do I have to be the freak who went to school on the very first Day of the school year with a pair of panties stuck by static cling to the leg of my pants?!!!

Seventh Grade was supposed to be Alli`s breakout year-only her big debut ends up being a disaster. Then queen bee Rachel Delaney takes Rachel under her wing, and Alli finds herself in the inner circle of 7th grade cool. But the inner circle is nothing like Alli expected, and there`s ugliness lurking behind the prettiest faces. Can Allie figure out where she fits in, or will she get caught up with the glamour of running with the in crowd?

Review: This book was so short! It was 135 pages! This was my first non IM book by Lauren Myracle so I was a little nervous. But this book was pretty good.

Alli was very like able. I could relate to her and Megan. They were my favorites. Kathy was probably the most unlikeable character that I have ever read about. She would always bring up how fat Alli was or always be snobby. Sometimes I wanted Alli to say something to her,but she didn`t. I think Kathy should`ve been the "Mean Girls" and not Rachel,Mika, and Hadley. I seriously wanted to stab Kathy. I like the "Mean Girls." I would rather be friends with them than Kathy. Eww.

Overall: The book was to short for me. If it was a little bigger maybe the rating would be higher. It was great though.

Inner Circle by:Kate Brian

Inner Circle by:Kate Brian
Released: August 28,2007
Publisher: Simon Pulse

4.5 stars

Summary:Last year was just the beginning. Welcome to the inner circle.

Reed Brennan arrived at Easton Academy expecting to find an idyllic private school experience-challenging classes, adorably preppy boys, and a chance to create a new life for herself. Instead, she discovered lies,deception,blackmail,and...murder. But,thankfully, the killers were caught and the nightmare is finally over.

The Billings Girls are gone.

Now with a new school year ahead of her,Reed steps back on Easton`s ivy-colored campus ready to start over. So when the headmaster announces that Billings is forbidden from holding their traditional, secretive initiation,Reed is relived. She champions the new rules and the six new girls the administration has picked to live in Billings Hall: Constance,Missy,Lorna,Kiki,Astrid, and newcomer Sabine.

But Reed`s fellow Billings resident and new nemesis,Cheyenne Martin, believes the changes are a mockery of Billings history. Despite the new rules,Cheyenne vows to keep the old ways alive,no matter what-or who-stands in her way..

Summary: Wow. I literally just finished this book literally 10 minutes ago and I`m still speechless about it. The book doesn't take place right after the last one but in the new school year. Reed actually finally becomes like able. I always hated her after Private. But,in this book something about Reed changed.
I loved the idea of the plot. I would have probably read this in day or two but I was so busy! I had 4 tests today and 2 pop quizzes the day before that! The book was great my only complaints were the ending left me confused and I wished we got to know Sabrine, the new girl more. If you read the book why would Cheyenne do THAT? I mean, seriously and tell Reed that`s it`s all her fault? That's messed up. Other than that it was great.

Fat Cat by: Robin Brande
October,13 2009

You are what you eat. . . .

Cat smart, sassy, and funny—but thin, she’s not. Until her class science project. That’s when she winds up doing an experiment—on herself. Before she knows it, Cat is living—and eating—like the hominids, our earliest human ancestors. True, no chips or TV is a bummer and no car is a pain, but healthful eating and walking everywhere do have their benefits.

As the pounds drop off, the guys pile on. All this newfound male attention is enough to drive a girl crazy! If only she weren’t too busy hating Matt McKinney to notice. . . .

This funny and thoughtful novel explores how girls feel about their bodies, and the ways they can best take care of their most precious resource: themselves.

This book lookes so good! I can`t wait to read it!

"I`m Hillari Kimble,she said.
Stargirl looked up. She smiled. She said,"I know."
"My birthday is tomorrow."
"I know."
Hillari paused. Her eyes narrowed. She jabbed het finger in Stargirl`s face. "Don`t try singing to me,I`m warning you."
Only those nearby tables heard Stargirl`s reply:"I won`t sing to you."
Hillari gave a satisfied smirk and walked off.

Confessions by: Kate Brian

Confessions by: Kate Brian
Released: April 24th 2007
Published: Simon Pulse

4.5 stars

Summary: Sometimes the truth hurts...
Reed Brennan came to super posh Easton Academy to make a brand new life for herself. At first it seems as though her dream had come true-she was living in the ultra exclusive Billings Hall, hanging out with the all-powerful Billings Girls, and dating the very hot Thomas Pearson. But Thomas turned out to be different from what she thought...and then he turned up dead. And if that wasen`t twisted enough,Reed`s new boyfriend,Josh Hollis, was arrested for Thomas`s murder.
Now everyone is back to worrying about the regular stuff.like how to sneak into the boy`s dorms at night, whether two-ply cashmere is warm enough for fall, and whether to fly to London or Barcelona for Thanksgiving break.
Everyone except for Reed.
Reed is convinced that Josh is innocent, which means the killer is still out there. Now it`s up to Reed to uncover the truth. But the deeper she digs, the more secrets she unearths and the closer she gets to the confession that will change everything...if she`s alive to hear it.
Review: This book was awesome. Reed as usual was a bitch but by the middle of the book I liked her more. But I still don't like her. =)
Cheyenne really comes out in this book. In the first book all you know is that she is Reed`s sweet roommate. But in this book she REALLY comes out. I love Cheyenne. She has to be the nicest character in the series...until now. In this book, you are always guessing what she might do next.
Noelle I LOVE too. She is my favorite character. She is like your protective, nice older sister and also a bitch at the same time. I think they should make a series about HER. Man,why am I cursing so much?
The ending of this book was AMAZING. I just could not put it down. It was great. I cant wait to read the next one. Just make sure you read the books ahead of this first or else you will be VERY confused.

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by: Gabrielle Zevin

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by: Gabrielle Zevin
Released: August 27th 2009
Publisher: Farrar,Strous,and Giroux

4.5 stars

Summary: If Naomi had picked tails, she would have won the coin toss.

She wouldn`t have had to go back for the yearbook camera, and she wouldn`t have hit her head on the steps.

She wouldn`t have woken up in an ambulance with amnesia.

She certainly would have remembered her boyfriend,Ace. She might even have remembered why she fell in love with him in the first place.

She would understand why her best friend,Will, keeps calling her "Chief." She`d get all his inside jokes, and maybe he wouldn`t be so frustrated with her for forgetting things she can`t remember she can`t possibly remember.

She`d know about her mom`s new family.

She`d know about her dad`s fiancee.

She wouldn`t have to spend her junior year relearning the French she supposedly knew already.

She never would have met James, the boy with the with the questionable past and the even fuzzier future, who tells her he once wanted to kiss her.

She wouldn`t have wanted to kiss him back.

But she picked heads.

Review:This book was great. The characters were so relatible. Naomi was a great character that I could relate to. I also really loved Will. He and Naomi have to be my favorite characters of the book. James was your average messed up bad boy which you have to feel bad for. I liked James but he definitely wasn`t one of my favorites in the book.
In the beginning of the book I HATED Ace,but by the end of the book I liked him more. I also wished I could get to see more of Alice and Yvette, who I found funny at times. Another character I find funny was Chloe (Naomi`s step-sister) who made me laugh out loud.
This book was great but the ending left me questioning. It was open-ended basically and I wanted more. But overall,it was really good.

3.5 stars

Summary: Madison feels plenty guilty for sneaking around behind Spencer`s back with Spencer`s longtime boyfriend,Tyler. But what spencer doesn`t know cant hurt her, right? Too bad nothing at Bradford stays secret for long....

Review: I was very disappointed with this book. I thought it was going to be better than it was. I loved Golden Girl but Fashionista made me annoyed. I found most of the characters annoying. The only characters I liked were C.J., Dalton,Regan, and Kayleen. (It seemed like everybody hated Kayleen, but I liked her.) This book made me kinda hate Madison and Tyler. I kinda liked Spencer and I just hated Paige and Jeremy.

I Loved the blog format though. I also liked how you got to see more characters in the book. Such as Tyler and Kayleen. They weren`t really in Golden Girl. Overall,it was OK but I wanted a little more. I`ll still read Scandalous though

But as they unravel Rosewood`s mysteries and secrets, will it bring an end to this horror...or is this just the beginning?

Review: WOW!! This book was amazing! Sara Shepard has to be one of my most favorite authors now. She is simply amazing. I liked how they put more of Mona in the book. I kinda like her now. I used to hate her but this book made me like her more. I can`t put it in any words. It was just simply amazing. From the beginning to the end I was hooked. I read in about two days. This has to be my favorite book in the series now. Just make sure you read the first three books first which are Pretty Little Liars,Flawless, and Perfect. Or else you might be very confused.

Invitation Only by Kate Brian

Invitation Only by:Kate Brian
Released:November 7,2006
Publisher:Simon Pulse
4.5 stars

Reed Brennan`s future is looking as bright as the two-karat diamonds in her new housemates` ears. being accepted to the most prestigious private boarding school in the country wasn`t enough for Reed. She had to break every rule to do it,but she has accomplished the impossible:

Reed is a Billings Girl now.

And with her new status comes respect, envy, and most important, opportunity. Not to mention the parties. Unfortunately,at the next illicit party in the Easton campus woods, her roommate snaps of Reed in more than one compromising position. She uses the photos to blackmail Reed:Dig up dirt on the most powerful and popular Billings Girl or she will have Reed expelled.

And speaking of parties, the Legacy is coming up. It`s the invitation-only Halloween Party in NYC and it`s rumored that Thomas--Reed`s MIA boyfriend--will be making an appearance there. Too bad Reed isn`t even close to invited.

Life as a Billings Girl is every bit as glamorous as Reed imagined. What she didn`t bargain for is the tangled web of private lies these girls weave. (summary from Amazon)

Review: Wow! This book was great. It keeps you occupied and always wondering. It also had a very good ending that made you have to get the next book,Untouchable, right away.

Untouchable by: Kate Brian

Untouchable by: Kate Brian 4.0 stars

Cheating,Partying,Blackmail,and now.....murder?

Can the Billings Girls remain untouchable?

Reed`s boyfriend, Thomas Pearson -- the popular, easygoing, irresistibly handsome and charismatic boy she fell in love with is dead. No one knows how it happened, and everyone is after the truth. Or are they?

Life at Easton Academy begins to feel really different. Taylor is acting like the poster child for Prozac,Kiran is spiking her cornflakes,Noelle is being kind of...nice,and Ariana keeps floating around as if nothing happened.

Thanksgiving break arrives and Reed and Josh find themselves alone on campus. They are forced to confront the feelings they`ve been hiding. Those feelings combined with an empty campus result in the hottest hookup Reed could ever imagine. But when Reed breaks the news about Josh to the Billings Girls, there`s no fun game of tell-all. Instead Josh becomes suspect No.1 in the murder of Thomas Pearson

The perfect life Reed has constructed as a Billings Girls begins to crumble. And as everyone becomes more convinced of Josh`s guilt,Reed`s private suspicions lead her somewhere she doesn`t want to go.
(Summary from Amazon.com)

Review: Once again Kate Brian has out done herself. Even though I find Reed annoying sometimes. I like how you got to see more of Josh in the book. You also got to see Gage and Dash. Gage made me laugh but I didn`t like Dash as much. You also got to see the lighter side of Noelle and you got to know the real Natasha. Overall,it was really good but make sure you read the first two books first.
